Game Statistics

ONA - Devin Stapleton scored six touchdowns and piled up 342 yards rushing and receiving as Cabell Midland remained undefeated and showed why they are by far the top ranked team in the state of West Virginia by posting a 62-7 win over the Parkersburg Big Reds.

Stapleton ran the ball 14 times for 262 yards and caught three passes for 80 yards while teammate Caperton Humphrey added 103 yards rushing and 22 receiving to account for two more of the Knights' nine touchdowns.

The Knights, who scored 67 points last week in an easy victory over highly-regarded George Washington, rolled up 516 yards on the ground and another 102 through the air. Stapleton had runs of 97 and 81 yards among his 17 touches.

The senior-dominated home team scored three times in the first quarter and twice in the second as they took advantage of three PHS interceptions and a lost fumble. The Big Reds also lost 35 yards on a bad snap fumble in the second quarter. At the half, PHS was minus three yards in total offense.

Parkersburg's lone score came in the fourth quarter when Nick Johnson broke several tackles with a second effort pass reception from Ethan Airhart that covered 46 yards.

Leading tackler for PHS was Brenton Strange with 11 while juniors Tyler Lawrentz and Easton Martin had 10 stops each.
